If you’ve been reading this blog for any amount of time… you know I love cloth diapers. I love trying all types of them, all colors, sizes, and styles. But, let me let you in on a little secret. I despise prefolds. I just do. Well, actually I used them when Sophia was younger and plan on using them on the next baby. I feel like they are really good when you have to change your baby so often, otherwise, you’ll be using alot of Pockets during the day.

When Real Nappies contacted me about trying out their Prefold Cloth Diapers system, I was excited {who doesn’t like to try new fluff!?} but at the same time, thinking in the back of my mind, “Oh no. Prefolds on my walking, active little lady!?”

When I received the Real Nappies package, I was shocked. They sent alot of diapers. I was immediately impressed and realized that what they sent me, the Essentials Pack, would cloth diaper Sophia for two straight days. This made me feel a bit more comfortable because, I’ll be honest here, when I receive a diaper to review, I can only use it once every few days between washings. It’s sometimes hard to get a really good feel for a diaper, in a relatively short amount of time, to give a great review. I did not have this problem with Real Nappies.

Sophia received the Crawler size. These prefolds and covers are sized for up to 18 months, 17-30 lbs. Sophia is right at 21lbs and the cover is a bit larger on her than I usually like. This hasn’t caused any problems at all, I am just used to a bit more of a snug fit.

I’ve used these diapers for Daytime, Nighttime, and Naptime. We have had not one single leak at all. The Real Nappies system is meant to be used in the Tri-Fold position, folding more in the front or back, depending on whether you have a boy or girl. That’s what makes these diapers so easy to use. Sure, Snappi’s are easy to hook {compared to pins} but when you have a wiggly, active babe like I do, Snappi’s just aren’t fast enough. I love the Tri-Fold option.

What WE think about Real Nappies: I can honestly say that I have grown to love these diapers. They are my go-to diapers that I reach for when I’m doing diaper laundry. Why? Because I can keep re-using the same cover all throughout the day, while all of our other diapers are drying outside. I have no reservations about putting them on Sophia at Naptime and I simply add in a hemp insert in the middle of the prefold for nighttime. These prefolds are some of the softest that I’ve ever felt. I also love the Real Nappies BioLiners to help keep the prefolds nice and white! The only thing that I would like to see changed about Real Nappies is the Laundry Tabs on the Snug Wrap Covers. The tab is too small and they often come apart during the washing routine.
