I love finding ways to be a bit greener in our life. Although I did have to make a last minute decision to use plastic table cloths {thanks to a catastrophic beginning to a party… more on that in a later post, promise!}, all of the other decorations we used were upcycled or recycled. Would you believe that I didn’t buy not one new item to decorate with!?!
I’ve told you before, we’re a 50s family… so my Dad and I had lots of memorabilia {antique car tags, 50s posters, etc.} to put up in the park pavilion to turn it into a 50s theme!
I was in need of something to put all of our Retro Candy in, though. I could have used the turquoise serving sets that I already had {which I did use for the food}, but I wanted something a bit more… Rockin’!
When I saw these upcycled Record Bowls from It’s Our Earth, I was in love! How great are they!? I don’t know if there’s a more decorative retro item available!
Up for your consideration is a funky Chip Bowl made from the vintage LP (33 1/3) described above. We have been making and selling these since 2003 and they never loose there “WOW” factor. Modeled from something I remember doing in boys scouts years ago, these are much more refined and consistently shaped so that as you collect them, you can easily stack.
Use this innovative bowl to serve snacks or set on you dresser and collect your hair ribbons, jewelry, and other miscellaneous items – Use it in your office for a candy dish! Great conversation piece. Great for making your Christmas or Birthday Gift Baskets – Wonderful Hostess Gift ! Be creative and create your own label !!
Record Chip Bowls are for novelty purposes and are not dishwasher or microwave safe. We do not treat the album with any chemical coatings so please use paper towel lining when filling with chips. To clean, wipe with a damp cloth.
Filled with my Retro Candy, they made great centerpieces for the party!
Why WE Love Our Record Bowls: These were a HUGE hit at the party! Let me tell you just how much of a hit… As I mentioned before, I gave guests bags to take candy home with them. Apparently, one of my guests thought that meant, take it all, as she shoved candy in her bag with one of my record bowls!!! It was a friend of hubby’s family, so we didn’t say anything. I’m just passing on the Retro love, I guess. So, now we’re down to two Record Bowls, but you can bet they will get plenty of use at all of our parties!!!
Buy It: You can purchase an upcycled Record Bowl from the It’s Our Earth Etsy shop for $9.99.
Win It: One lucky So Easy Being Green reader is going to win one of their very own Upcycled Record Bowls!!!
