As we’re nearing the end of the Out Like a Lamb
event, I feel like I’ve touched on just about every subject that kept me from wool and fitteds for so long. Well, other than the lanolizing post (coming tomorrow!).
Today, we’re talking fitteds again and I’m going to introduce you to a WAHM that you will have wished you had found sooner! Melisa is the amazing Mama behind Green Scene Diapers. I consider myself lucky to happen across her Facebook page and see her lovely fitted diapers and thought they would make a great addition to the Out Like a Lamb event!
I was sent the absolute cutest fitted e.v.e.r to try out on Sophia. This print is called Hootie Girl (can I just say that I love how the name reminds me of one of my fave bands of all time Hootie & the Blowfish!? ha!). We are digging owls right now, so it was perfect!
Let me tell you a bit about her diapers. They are considered a One-Size fitted, as they have a snap down option (similar to a BumGenius) to accommodate babies from 8-35 lbs. I have Sophia’s snapped to the smallest setting and she’s at 19 lbs. It fits good now, but I’m sure I’ll be un-snapping soon. The diaper itself is made from Cotton Knit (outer), Organic Bamboo Fleece (Hidden), and Organic Bamboo Velour (touching baby’s skin) to make it ultra soft and ultra absorbent. Below is a stock photo of the snap-in doublers (you get 2!) that come with each diaper.
Of course, like with all fitteds, to be considered waterproof, you must put a cover over them (wool!!!), but I let Sophia go around in this diaper all of the time. It’s too cute to cover up all the time and with the 10 layers (yes, I said 10 layers!) of “squishy soft absorbency“, I never worry about her leaking through.
One of my original concerns with using fitteds was the fact that Sophia would be sitting in a wet diaper for hours. I’ve gotten over that fear, as we’ve had absolutely no irritation or rashes whatsoever, since using all of the fitteds that I’ve reviewed. Another positive aspect of the Green Scene fitted is the fact that the doublers are so absorbent, but don’t feel wet to the touch. This keeps the wetness in the diaper and away from her skin.
Why I Love the Green Scene Diapers Fitted Cloth Diaper: I don’t want to be redundant, so I’ll just say… See Above. I have nothing but the highest praises for this diaper and this WAHM. The sewing is such high quality, which is what struck me first when I saw them on Facebook. I love this diaper so much that I’ve already bought a second (with a Minkee Outer)!!!
